Sounds of Cuba will be brought to life tonight at the Whitney.
There’s going to be a pop-up performance by musicians from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club.
After the performance, there will be a panel discussion exploring the intersection of art, music, and theater. Those who attend can also participate in a pop-up Broadway dance class. All right, taught by an Alvin Ailey instructor. This is part of the Whitney’s free Friday night series.
Admission to the museum is free. But a great thing to do on a Friday night, right?
It’s fabulous. I mean, you can’t listen to Mambo and that kind of stuff without dancing. Stay still. You can’t be a wallflower for that one.
